MATCH ONE
The final play-off match saw Wild Men From Borneo (WMFB) against the Southern Stars. The Wild Men went out and scored 33 runs with Scarface retiring hurt on 11. The Southern Stars won.
MATCH TWO
The first semi-final in the Platedivision saw the Southern Stars taking on the Phuket Juniors. The Southern Stars made a very god score of 69 which proved too much for the young Phuket players who made 39 in reply. Ron Elliott again batted well before retiring on 30 and Scott McNamara made a handy 27 not out. The Phuket Juniors’ Jasper made 14 not out.
MATCH THREE
In the second semi-final in the Platedivision the CBBs defeated Bat-69/St Xaviers from Kolkata in an exciting match. The Bat-69 made three for 52 with Karan Suri making 23 runs. The CBBs chased the score down in the fourth over making 56 for the loss of no wickets. Imran from Imran Sports retired on 32, with Eggy not out on 14.
MATCH FOUR
The first Bowl division semi-final saw the Storm Chasers from England take on Mount Compass from South Australia. Mount Compass batted first and posted an imposing 77 runs. Nash batted really well to retire on 32 and Martin scored 20. Diwanbowled a brilliant over with only six runs coming off it for the Storm Chasers. The Chasers batted well however fell short of the target to make 60 runswith Diwanfollowing up with a handy 23. Mount Compass’ Payton Roocke bowled a very tight over for six runs only.
MATCH FIVE
The Sharifally Huzifers played the Desa Bangles in an all Malaysian affair with the Bangles running out winners 54 to 55.The Huzifers ran out of steam a little after some great performances in early rounds and simply did not make enough runs. David batted very well for Desa and retired on 31, with Pal making 16.
MATCH SIX
Matches started to become interesting in the Cup semi-finals. In the firstsemi-final MG7 made an imposing 90 runs with Faisal making 22 and Bharat making 27 not out. Etihad chased well with a very good innings by Sreekanth retiring on 32 and Chirag scoring 16. However they fell short of the target making 72.
MATCH SEVEN
The second semi-final saw the second team from Kuwait the MG7 Warriors taking on the Wolfpack from Australia. In an extremely exciting match, the Wolfpack made two for 68. This impressive target proved not too challenging for the MG7 Warriors: the score was passed in the fourthover; with Casino making 31 before retiring and Roy making 26 not out.
MATCH EIGHT
The Shield Final was an all WMFB match, with their number 1 team taking on their number 2 team. WMFB 1 batted first posting a good score of 69, with Ginger retiring on 30 runs. WMFB 2 chased the score very sensibly making 72 in the final over to take home the Shield. Freebie and Noddy made valuable contributions with each making 26 runs.
Match NINE
Plate Final: The CBBs backed up last week’s win in the3rd Annual Kata Group International Cricket 7s Bowl Final with a tremendous performance to take out the Plate Final. Batting first, the CBBs made an imposing score of 85, with Wayne Morrison retiring with 32 and Eggy making 22 not out. The Southern Stars batted well to make 76, but were unable to threaten the CBBs score. Scott McNamara retired on 32 and Jake Wright made 24 not out. Stretch from the CBBs closed the match bowling the final over and only going for 11 runs
Match TEN
Bowl Final: The Mount Compass Bulls completely an excellent first tour to the Phuket International Sixes by scoring 0/79 against the DESA Bangles from Malaysia. Mark Nash made 30 Retired and Robert Martin made 29 not out. The Bangles did their best in the run chase with David Ross making 24 and Cheong 24 not out, but fell short making 2/64. Robert Martin followed his batting up by bowling an excellent over for Mount Compass and taking 2 for 2.
Match ELEVEN
Cup Final: The Cup Final was an All Kuwaiti affair with MG7 taking on the MG7 Warriors. MG7 have played very well all week, however after being surprise losers yesterday, they played brilliantlytoday in both the semi and final. Batting first MG7 made an imposing score of 89 with Faisal retiring on 31 and Usman 34. MG7 Warriors chased well, but were never really in the hunt making 63. Casino (19 runs) and Asim (23 runs) batted well but could not make it at the end.
